Today I finished up a project I've been working on for a few months. Our friend Barbara Culhane lost her 11 yr old daughter a few months ago in a tragic accident. She was one of John's co-workers at Fastech. The whole family has been devastated so we wanted to do something for them. One of the things we decided to do for them is have these rosaries made for them from rose petals given to the family at the funeral. We took up a collection and raised over $600. The rosaries came out beautiful. They are going to give a set to each of the priests at their church where their daughter was an altar server. I have a bracelet given to me when my father passed away 25 years ago and it's something's I treasure. I hope they fel the same someday.
The excess funds were used to purchase a gift certificate at a spa here in Groton for her and her other teenage daughter. Hopefully they can use it to do something relaxing and healing for themselves. I'm sure they could use it. When you think you're having a bad day, all you have to do is think of Barbara. Doesn't seem so bad anymore.
